Rescue.
Safety.
Assistance.

Good Quality and Reliable Emergency Medical Services are currently a major challenge in Hoedspruit.

GP Doctors are not expected nor trained to deal with emergency medical scenes and scenarios, and with no hospitals immediately available to the average Hoedspruit residents, this creates a gap and desperate need for skilled emergency medical assistance requirements within the greater region of Hoedspruit.

Hoedspruit Medical Rescue helps fill the gap by supplying a good quality reliable emergency medical service to the community based on years of skills and experience together with compassion and commitment to the community.

Partnerships

Hoedspruit Medical Rescue has established very strong partnerships with both Hoedspruit Farmwatch and the Hoedspruit Victim’s Support Unit and works in very close relationship with both of these Community Based Organisations.

One of the main benefits of these partnerships is that Hoedspruit Medical Rescue is thus able to offer their clients an holistic service encompassing medical services, emotional and trauma support as well as additional safety and security measures.

Hoedspruit Medical Rescue gives consults on a regular basis to both of these community organisations and works together with them to ensure the medical safety of all the volunteers involved.

Our Paramedic

Pieter Papsdorf has been actively involved in both fire fighting and paramedic services since 1989. He started his career in the Nigel Fire & Ambulance services where he remained for 10 years. During this time, he was initially qualified as a fireman in 1989 and later in 1994 as a paramedic. After his years of service in the Nigel Fire Dept, he then took up a post at the Bethal fire dept, where amongst other things he specialised in extricating victims from motor vehicle accidents. Following his time at the Bethal Fire Department, Pieter then worked for Mid Med Hospital and Ambulance Services (Mid Med Intensi-care). In 2006 Pieter then started at Africa Safe-T – initially based in the Sabi Sands and then moving to Hoedspruit. Together with Dr Simon King, Pieter has assisted in building Africa Safe-T up to the successful business that it is today. In 2012, Pieter has now taken the exciting move to open his own operation offering a wide variety of emergency services within the greater region of Hoedspruit and the community is very privileged to be benefiting from his years of experience, his skill and expertise.
